The Muthuaini Washing Station is part of the Mutheka Coffee Farmers Society, consisting of more than 500 active farming members in Nyeri County, growing SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian in red volcanic soils at 1,700 meters. MUTHUAINI operates in one of Kenya's most distinctive agricultural settings. A highland zone where coffee and tea grow side by side, and where the commitment to quality coffee production is both deliberate and hard-won. The cool, stable climate slows cherry development and builds the dense, mineral-rich seeds that define the best of NYERI.
Poma's Collaboration
Our collaboration with MUTHUAINI is centered on consistency and farmer engagement. In a region where tea competes for growers' attention and resources, we work with the factory's management to reinforce the value of precision from thoughtful fertilization to soil health at farm. We have seen how disciplined fertilization programs and attentive post-harvest handling directly translate into the clarity and brightness that makes Muthuani's lots stand out.
